- October 29, 2020 – Small Group Rides Begin
After Victoria's long lockdown, we can finally start to take small steps towards the resumption of small group rides. Victoria's new restrictions means that we can now have up to 10 people participating in an outdoors sporting activity. The 25 km limit still applies.
In order to accommodate this new situation, we will be conducting 4 concurrent rides. The start points will be scattered across the eastern suburbs, so that most riders will be able to find a ride within their 25 km travel radius. The four start locations will be
Croydon - start in Kirtan Drive - ride leaders Dave Yates and Karlo Lavicka - Ph 0402 828861
Jells Park - start at Madelaine's Kiosk - ride leaders Michael & Christine Slattery - Ph 0408338380
Stud Rd - start at the Indoor Sports Centre - ride leaders Ross & Fran Luke - Ph 0408 008021
Berwick - start at the corner of Bryn Mawr Blvd and Princes Hwy - ride leaders Dennis & Maggie Dawson - Ph 0419 106324
If you would like to join one of these rides we ask that you contact the respective ride leader BEFORE the ride. They will be able to tell you if there are still spaces available. If the ride is fully booked, then you may be able to find a space in one of the other rides instead.
PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP AT THE START WITHOUT FIRST LETTING THE RIDE LEADER KNOW. THIS IS TO MAKE SURE THAT NO MORE THAN 10 RIDERS ARE TAKING PART IN ANY RIDE.
Initially we will only be conducting rides on Thursdays, starting at 10 am. The first ride will take place on Thursday 29th October.
Please also note that, for the health and safety of all riders, we will be asking that all riders wear a suitable face mask while they are taking part.
Hopefully this interim arrangement will only be for a short time and then we will be able to resume normal unrestricted group rides on Mondays and Thursdays.
